Mesa Roldan, in the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park, Almeria, Spain.

Part 9 - The Other Road Down

On the opposite side of the mountain to the road up, there is this road. It's a long walk down, but if you choose to take it (we never have!) it will eventually lead you to Aqua Amarga , the distant place shown in Part 8. So we turn round and slowly walk back the way we have come, and see the things we missed the first time.

The park is an area of natural beauty of all kinds, from harsh and dramatic to soft and gentle. It covers a very large area. This is just one small part of it, but it is 10 minutes drive from where we live (from front door to car park) and is one of our favourite places for feeling the wind, admiring the views, studying the rocks and plants, and even just sitting. A place of peace and tranquility, where nature is the boss.
