Mesa Roldan, in the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park, Almeria, Spain.

Part 6 - still strolling round the top.

You can leave the path and go right to the edge of the cliff - some people even climb down a little way. Looking at the sea from here the boats look like tiny Matchbox toy boats on a vast rippling lake.  (The path you can see in this photo is accessible from the back of the lighthouse, not from here.)

The park is an area of natural beauty of all kinds, from harsh and dramatic to soft and gentle. It covers a very large area. This is just one small part of it, but it is 10 minutes drive from where we live (from front door to car park) and is one of our favourite places for feeling the wind, admiring the views, studying the rocks and plants, and even just sitting. A place of peace and tranquility, where nature is the boss.
