Mesa Roldan, in the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park, Almeria, Spain

Part 3 - Looking back

When you are nearly at the top you can turn round and look back at the lighthouse. Then you understand why you are puffing and sweating, though of course age could have something to do with it.

The park is an area of natural beauty of all kinds, from harsh and dramatic to soft and gentle. It covers a very large area. This is just one small part of it, but it is 10 minutes drive from where we live (from front door to car park) and is one of our favourite places for feeling the wind, admiring the views, studying the rocks and plants, and even just sitting. A place of peace and tranquility, where nature is the boss.
