Fiesta 2009, Part 14 of a long series, Musicians.

There were a lot of musicians, from the Municipal band to bands from other towns.  Most of the musicians were very young. They all did really well, and were on duty from Thursday evening to Saturday night.  The guys with the kettle drums were only in the final processions;  they were GOOD!  Since they were playing in a moving procession they had to work together - if the "puller" had moved too fast, the "player" would have missed the drum.

Forgive me if I am slow replying to your comments, or in commenting on your blogs - family have arrived for a holiday and we are being kept very busy.

That's amazing. I've never seen an instrument that needed that sort of coordination! Fantastic.
Sheila, in Spain mostly: Thanks Harv. You can find these drums in some orchestras, in which case they are static. I felt this was an unusual way to use these drums - but very effective and clever.
