Mesa Roldan, in the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park, Almeria, Spain.

Part 11 - Back to the car and home again - End of Series

Coming back down the mountain to the car park, we can look across the industrial area with the 240m tall power station chimney, the little-used commercial port, the much used fishing port and to the residential part of the small town where we live. We can even see where our house is, right at the back of the town nestled into the mountain with views of the sea.  But I won't say X marks the spot, that's my secret!

The park is an area of natural beauty of all kinds, from harsh and dramatic to soft and gentle. It covers a very large area. This is just one small part of it, but it is 10 minutes drive from where we live (from front door to car park) and is one of our favourite places for feeling the wind, admiring the views, studying the rocks and plants, and even just sitting. A place of peace and tranquility, where nature is the boss.

great shot Sheila, love the idea of including the power station with that beautiful back drop. The way things are going over here i think you made the best possible decision without doubt.
Sheila, in Spain mostly: Thank you very much Tim. I love that chimney, not only is my landmark, I think it has a certain grace to it. Others simply call it an eyesore.
