This is the police station (Guardia Civil), where they have this splendid banana tree and some beautiful rose bushes and palms (not shown in this photo).   Note how the weight of the bananas has pulled the branch down and someone has supported it with a chair.  A few days later the branch was breaking and the chair had been moved up to the fruit to keep them about 6 inches off the ground. 

I looked at this plant a ccouple of days ago - the branch is really breaking, the chair is moved again and tilted at an angle to give more height, but the bananas are now VERY big and resting on the ground. I don't know why they haven't been picked.
